DAY 2
It's travel day~
From PARIS to MILAN to FLORENCE
Wake up and had our breakfast at Ville De Provins, located just beside the hotel we stayed. Ying is not here with us because she went to do more shopping~
Had our wonderful simple breakfast and wait for Ying to come back from shopping~ It cost € 6.50.
The weather is super cold and it's so blissful to have a cup of hot chocolate.
Nearby the hotel, there's this church looking amazing and I took a picture with it. I realize that actually there are many church in every corner. The building structure there is so beautiful!
After Ying met back with us, we checked-out and took train to the Paris Charles de Gaulle CDG airport to head to Milan Malpensa MXP.
Luckily, we arrived earlier because the que is long and slow. The airport checks everything very carefully, guys need to take off their shoes and jackets and watch into the scanner~ They are very strict.
Ying did not had her breakfast and she went to get some food before got on board. The cafe in the airport sells all these delicious food. By looking at the pictures, I'm so hungry now~haha...
Quickly grabbed some foods and head to the counter.
While waiting on board, took a picture of the airport. Does it look like mini toys?
Had my 'salted caramel' macarons bought from Laduree, it's super fresh but it's a little too sweet for me.
After one hour and half, we have arrived Milan Malpensa MXP airport. Malpensa Airport is Italy’s second-largest, but runs neck-in-neck with the country’s biggest airport (Rome’s Fiumicino Airport) in terms of international traffic.
We took this bus to the arrival hall because it is quite far away by walking.
After collecting our luggages, Ying went to the counter to purchase this bus ticket from Malpensa Shuttle to head to Milano Centrale train station. We waited outside the arrival hall and got on board. It's another 45 minutes ride (depends on traffic). What surprises me is that there's free wifi while traveling on the bus. Yayy!! happy me~
After arriving Milano Centrale, the first thing we do is to put our luggage at KiPoint. It is located on the ground level. Each piece of baggage service fees are € 6,00 for the first 5 hours. We do not want to pull our luggages up and down so we leave our luggage here.
Milano Centrale is Italy’s second largest station in terms of size and traffic volume. It is an impressive site, with an imposing and majestic architecture, located right in the heart of the capital of Lombardy. Today Stazione Centrale represents a key hub for city services and Milan’s shopping areas, as well as the main junction for High Speed rail and links with the rest of Europe.
Que to buy our tickets at the kiosk in Milano Centrale going to Firenze S.M.N.
There are a lots of train going to different places, we need to check our train located at which platform.
After getting our tickets, we have an hour more so Ying decided to bring us to visit Milano Duomo by grabbing a cab there. Just 5 minutes drive~
Tadaaaa!!! We've arrived Duomo di Milano~ It is the 5th-largest church in the world, the largest in Italy and also one of the most famous building in Europe.
Duomo means Cathedral Church, you can visit by purchasing tickets from the counter. Too bad, we do not have enough time to visit it. But I will next time!
This is one of the tourist attraction that is amazingly beautiful!!!!! Be careful of black people, selling hand bands, they will just put it at your hand and ask you to buy and pay for it. I'm standing at the Piazza del Duomo (Cathedral Square) which is Milan's most beautiful square. It is dominated by the magnificent front facade of the Duomo (cathedral). At the center of the square stands a monument honoring the first king of a unified Italy.
Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, simply known as the Galleria is located just beside the Duomo di Milano. It is built in 1865 in honour of Italy's last king and is undoubtedly one of Milan's most iconic structures, both locally and beyond, with 90 per cent of the city's visitors walking through its doors. It is a magnificent shopping arcade in Milan, covered with a glass and iron roof. The interior of the impressive five story structure is decorated with patriotic mosaics and statues.
It is one of Milan's most popular attractions, the Galleria is constantly crowded with locals and tourists, the latter often snapping pictures or gazing at the spectacular architecture. Also, it is one of the oldest shopping centres in the world.
Let's try some Gelato ice cream~
Yummy~
The photo on the right is the triumphal. The entrance from the Piazza del Duomo is framed by a monumental triumphal arch, drawing people from the square in front of the cathedral to the arcade.
Take more photo's that we are here together in May 2015! Years later, I'll be reading back and missed the moments we've been together.
It's about time, we took train to get back to Milano Centrale to catch our train to Firenze.
The high speed train that can go until 400km/hour...
Look at the train tracks!!! There are so many lanes....
We can even charge our handphones on board. The average journey time between Milano Centrale and Firenze S.M.N. is 2 hours and 39 minutes and the fastest journey time is 1 hour and 40 minutes.
Arrived Firenze (Florence)!!!
We walk and drag our luggages to our hotel~
The sky is super blue and it looks so fake but it's real!
There are a lot of branded shops and also a lot of fake goods selling on the streets.
We stayed at Hotel Costantini~ Every where we stayed, we need to pay the city tax.
Dinner time~~ Went to Restaurant Zaza for dinner that is highly recommended by the hotel staff. There's cover charge for each for using the utensils..
DAY 3
Had our breakfast in hotel~
Palazzo Vecchio
It's time to do some shopping again~ We walk to the Firenze train station and bought our tickets to Montevarchi-Terranuova.
Look at the people there, so many people compared to day the we arrive. Everybody travelling to different places.
Finally arrived and we shared a cab with others to the Prada outlet.
Ying took a number to start shopping.
I got myself a prada perfume!!! That only cost €89....I'm a happy kid!
Wait for our cab to fetch us back to train station and then bought another train ticket to Rignano sull'Arno.
We grabbed a cab to THE MALL (shopping outlets).
Many branded outlets over there!!! Shop till you drop!
The que is seriously long and there are lots of China tourist!! We qued for an hour plus and I see the way they buy Prada is crazy~~How I wish I can spend like them...hahaha
After shopping, we took the shuttle bus all the way back to Florenze train station. Walk back to hotel for a rest and head out for dinner.
Florence is the capital city of the Italian region of Tuscany and of the province of Florence. Florence is a very romantic place to go to~ I'll be back!!!
Don't even understand what the menu writes...
The picture on the right is actually a soup but it's different from ours. It taste like potatoes to me...hehe
We are way too full so we've decided take a walk, see see look look and enjoy.
Walking towards the Florence Ponte Vecchio bridge.
Ponte Vecchio, the oldest of Florence's six bridges, is one of the city's best known images.
My best friend!!!
So many couples are gathered here!! It's a 'paktoh' spot. Where's my partner? Hmm...
Lots of variety of ice cream!! Let's have some...
I got myself the famous waffles in Florence. €4 each.
The famous bronze boar (II Porcellino's)
The Piazza del Mercato Nuovo is the site of this famous bronze statue of a wild boar, a symbol of Tuscany and tourist attraction. Some put coins in his mouth, but if I'm informed correctly, you put your hand in the mouth being careful to wish that you will return to Florence or you'll be bitten. Il Porcellino (Italian for “piglet”) is his name and he is supposed to bring good luck to those that rub his snout and put a coin in his mouth (which drops into the grate below).
Actually, this is the second boar to stand beside this open market, a copy of the first one which was showings signs of damage from so much love and good luck giving and now on display in the Museo Bardini.
Florence's Duomo is the city's most iconic landmark.
